General Statement
At Nationwide Workwear, a a trading division of The Mina Group Limited, we are committed to fostering a culture of occupational health and safety within our organisation. As a prominent entity in the industry, we prioritise the well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors. Our dedication to health and safety is reflected in the implementation of comprehensive procedures and systems in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and relevant legal and regulatory guidelines.
Our objective goes beyond mere compliance with the law; we aspire to establish new standards for occupational health and safety. To achieve this, we have developed an occupational health and safety management system aligned with the ISO45001:2018 standard. This system includes regular establishment and review of health and safety objectives aimed at preventing injuries and illnesses.
We are committed to providing:
- A safe working environment supported by well-maintained plant and equipment.
- Safe procedures for handling, transporting articles, substances, and personnel.
- Thorough training, clear instructions, timely information, and vigilant supervision.
- Safe and secure premises with unobstructed access and egress.
- A conducive work environment complemented by adequate welfare facilities.
Communication and Participation
Continuous communication and active participation from employees at all levels are essential for the effectiveness of our health and safety initiatives. We encourage open channels of communication throughout the organisation, proactive fulfilment of legal and other requirements, prioritisation of health and safety risk controls, and a strong focus on preventing occupational illnesses and injuries.
Individual Responsibilities
While collective safety is our priority, each employee and contractor holds responsibility for their own well-being and that of others. If a task appears hazardous or unfamiliar, it is crucial to report such instances to the Director responsible for Safety.
Reporting and Monitoring
It is mandatory to document any work-related injuries, regardless of severity. We maintain accident books in both the workshop and administrative office for this purpose. These records are integral for ongoing policy evaluation and are reviewed quarterly to ensure a continuous cycle of safety improvement.
Policy Review
Our Health and Safety Policy undergoes regular scrutiny to confirm its ongoing suitability and effectiveness in safeguarding the well-being of our workforce.
